The Hair of the Dog event is an annual fundraiser hosted by Kendra Watt, Kari Jensen and Erol Yersel in support of the Cochrane & Area Humane Society and is an event that raises significant funds for our operation. Due to the restrictions surrounding COVID-19, the Hair of the Dog had to be cancelled in April. The sponsors of this event – Kendra Watt Real Estate Group, Chew Chew Pediatric Dentistry Cochrane, Erol’s Automotive, Global Pet foods Cochrane and Royal Mechanical Services – collectively donated a generous $5000 to support the CAHS operations during this pandemic!
The annual Cochrane & Area Humane Society Gala fundraiser also could not take place this November and is our largest fundraiser of the year raising $50,000 for the care and medical needs of the animals. It’s loss will have a significant impact to the CAHS this year.
As auctions are a major part of both of these events, we wish to capture the spirit and fun of the Hair of the Dog and the Gala’s silent auctions with an online auction fundraiser to support the animals in our care.
