Saturday, Jan 31, 2026 at 2:00PM

Cochrane Public Library

Discover the beauty and meaning behind Indigenous ribbon skirts in this interactive workshop led by Kelly Gordon of Alberta Land based Education. Participants will explore the cultural significance of ribbon skirts while creating their own mini version using hand-sewing techniques.

This program is open to all ages; however, children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for assistance with sewing. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn practical skills, connect with Indigenous traditions, and celebrate cultural heritage.

This event is proudly supported by the Ethnocultural Grant from the Government of Alberta as part of Weaving Connections: Indigenous Culture, History, and Healing, an initiative dedicated to fostering understanding and cultural appreciation.
